I shouldn’t have left you. For real, I shouldn’t have left. I will go into it in detail later, but let me just say it was not fun. At total bust of a trip, except for about 18 hours of fun in Miami, getting there and getting back home was hell. I’m trying to decide the name for the next post….it’s a tie between “Planes, Trains, and Automobiles” or “Canhead’s Vacation…NOT!” In an attempt to turn a negative into a positive, I’ll journal the carnage for you all, reality tv style. At least it will be an intersting story.
Until then, here’s what floating around in the Canhead inbox:

To every hip-hop artist in America who make records about killing each other (who is that on the joint Flex was playing Monday night? Papoose?), these kids just flipped it on you. IFilm has this clip of a foreign hip-hop group’s video that has been banned in Norway. They call for the assassination of George Bush, and basically setting it off on America right now for foreign policy crimes and imperialism. The group, Gatas Parlament, released this video originally in 2004, but it is still making the internet email rounds and getting attention. If you haven’t seen this one, you should check it out.
~Rolling Stone has new live footage of T.I. performing, photos from SXSW 2005, U2’s tour launch and more at their website.
~Check out Waxy.org for the ill DJ DangerMouse “Grey” video. That’s what up! Ringo on the turntables and John floor rocking!
~Must have missed this one when I was redlining that 2005 Mustang on 24W heading to Cashville. Remember the part in Fahrenheit 9/11 where Michael Moore says that the US government secretly flew several Saudis out of America on 9/11. Remember how everyone said it was BS? Seems he was right. (Check O-Dub for link!)
Stay tuned.. Memphis Bleek interview is up next.

“MILES DAVIS - The Cool Jazz Sound”A while back I mentioned this, as I was expecting to receive a review copy thanks to Clint Weiler at Music Video Distributors. I was not expecting what I got. “Stars Of Jazz” is a DVD series featuring some of the greatest jazz legends of all time, from Duke Ellington, Count Basie, Billie Holiday, B.B. King and many more greats. The first feature is “The Sound of Miles Davis” .
The DVD features an 1959 episode of “The Robert Herridge Theater”. “The Sound of Miles Davis” is a 28 minute film, originally shot in 16mm black an white, so it has that authentic feel when watching it. Small effects like the light reflection off Miles’ horn that turns black also add a nice touch to the film. “The Sound of Miles Davis” features performances by the Miles Davis Quintet (Paul Chambers, Jimmy Cobb, John Coltrane, Davis and Wynton Kelly)as well as with the Gil Evans Orchestra.
This is a real cool DVD. The video clip of “Kind Of Blue” classic cut “So What” alone is worth the price of admission here. But with it’s glimpses at so many jazz heavyweights, working in a warm studio setting, performing “Blues for Pablo,” “The Duke,” and “New Rhumba“, it is a must have for jazz fans in particular and music fans in general. I highly recommend this one.

Studioworks Entertainment presents: Yucko The Clown in “The Damn Show”

Oh boy. The sick part about reviewing this sh!t is that I asked for it. I mean I literally requested it. In case you don’t know this clown, it’s ok. He’s a loser. He is one of those guys you’ll hear on Howard Stern making an ass out of himself for free.(Kind of like me with this blog). This DVD is bad on so many levels I don’t know where to begin sh!tting on it first.
First of all, it’s low budget, like public access gone bad, super ghetto low budget. Too make sure that no one will respect it at all, they throw in as many racist and otherwise offensive jokes they can think of. I wont even bother trying to list them as the bottom line is this DVD is not funny.
They try to get that extreme humor thing going but it doesn’t work. Clint Black does a good job trying to be a edgy comic, but somehow this DVD just falls on it’s face. Maybe it was the dumb Snapple bottle skits and the Play-doh Sesame Street knock off, or maybe it was the painfully long Gooks of Hazard skit (A dildo headed cop chasing Asians playing Bo and Luke Duke, sounds funnier than it looks). No it was the use of homeless in skits that made fun of them and their mental problems and/or addictions. No, it was the Inebriated Koala cartoons. No, it was the Blind Date with a drug addicted prostitute. No no no… it was The Racist Mr. Ed skit that did it for me. You get my point yet?
I thought it might be a funny DVD, I think Yucko made me laugh once on Howard Stern. That was the last time that ass clown made me laugh, I’ll tell you that much. “The Damn Show” should be called the “Damned Show” because Yucko and the boys are on the VIP guest list in Hell for this one.
Oh yeah, this guy actually sent me a letter saying how lucky I was to get a copy of his DVD for free. The funny part is when he says that if I want an interview, not to call him, call Brian “My Balls Smell” Gross at ***-***-****. Don’t worry, I won’t call ya Yucko. Sorry Brian. Oh yeah, your DVD is in the mail coming back to you.
Example of racial humor used well.
Archie Bunker yelling at Edith when the Jeffersons barge in at midnight..”Edith will you do something, we’re having a Harlem pajama party out here”. That was funny. Yucko is just stupid.
TRILLVILLE’S “SOME CUT” SHOOTS UP THE CHARTS March 19, 2005

BLAZIN’-HOT TRIO OUT OF LIL JON’S BME RECORDINGS CAMP SCORE A
MULTI-CHART BREAKTHROUGH WITH “SOME CUT” (FEATURING CUTTY)
NEW CD TRILLVILLE: RELOADED DUE IN THE SPRING
For Immediate Release
March 17, 2005
On the strength of breakthrough momentum resulting from a well
received, wildly popular video (a Top Ten Countdown entry on BET’s 106th &
Park, FULL rotation on MTV2, HEAVY rotation on BET’s Rap City, active play
on MTV, etc.) and enthusiastic radio spins (on everything from Urban
Mainstream and Top 40 Mainstream, to R&B Mainstream stations across the
country), steadily rising BME Recordings/Warner Bros. act TRILLVILLE
have snagged a multi-chart breakthrough with their latest smash hit, “Some
Cut” (featuring Cutty). TRILLVILLE – comprised of rappers Don P.,
Dirty Mouth and Lil L.A. – enjoys radio success with “Some Cut” as the
single has sprinted up The R&R Urban Mainstream Chart (#2), Hot R&B/Hip-Hop
Billboard Airplay Monitor chart (#2) and Rap Billboard Airplay Monitor
(#4 with a bullet).
Easily delivering on the promise of their debut hit, “Neva Eva” (culled
from their gold-certified The King Of Crunk & BME Recordings Present
Trillville & Lil Scrappy, the popular trio continue to make significant
career inroads – all while holding down a promotional tour schedule
that has included everything from interviews/performances on popular music
shows like MTV’s Direct Effect and BET’s Rap City, and culminating in
high-profile upcoming appearances on Soul Train, MTV’s Spring Break ’05
and BET’s Spring Break specials. “Some Cut” even resulted in a #3
slot on the Moviso MasterTone chart (compiled from the sales of
MasterTones on AT&T, Cingular, T-Mobile, Ringster Plus, Samsung FunClub and
Virgin Mobile).
Steadily snowballing into an outright rap phenomenon, TRILLVILLE’s
career has certainly come quite a way from the three Atlanta-reared grade
school friends with music career ambitions and the ambitious trio who
convinced Lil Jon to attend one of their sold-out local gigs, to their
current status as the “Gods of Crunk.” Not only does the apparent
widespread chart/radio success of “Some Cut” justify such a title, but it
paves the way and heightens the anticipation surrounding the spring
release of their new, full-length CD, Trillville: Reloaded. In the
meantime, it’ll be nearly impossible to avoid TRILLVILLE – not that any
crunk-lovin’ music fan would want to.

Kevin Martin named new FCC chief
Free Press challenges new chairman to defend the public interest better than his predecessor
The Wall Street Journal reported Wednesday that Kevin Martin will be named this week as the next chairman of the Federal Communications Commission, replacing Michael Powell. Robert W. McChesney, founder and president of the nonpartisan media reform group Free Press, made the following statement:
“Kevin Martin has not distinguished himself as a defender of the public interest during his tenure at the FCC. Too often, he has done the bidding of industry lobbyists and made decisions behind closed doors without public input. His new position presents a great opportunity to change course and instead listen to average citizens about the crucial policy decisions that will shape the future of the media and the Internet.
“While Martin won’t face further Senate scrutiny in a confirmation hearing, much has changed since he was first appointed to the FCC in 2001. The FCC’s infamous June 2003 ruling on media ownership - when Martin voted in favor of further concentration - awakened the public to the disastrous decisions being made in their name but without their consent. They will be watching the new chairman very closely.
“In the coming months and years, the FCC will not only revisit the ownership rules, but will make major decisions affecting broadband Internet access, community radio, and allocation of the public airwaves after the digital television transition. Martin faces a choice of whether to continue business as usual or follow the lead of FCC Commissioners Michael Copps and Jonathan Adelstein, who have convened numerous hearings nationwide to learn what Americans want out of their media system. If Martin and the majority at the FCC choose again to ignore the public, they will face an enormous backlash that will make 2003 look like a tiny ripple.”

Lil Kim convicted of perjury March 17, 2005
Posted by Canhead in Uncategorized.add a comment
Rap diva Lil’ Kim was convicted Thursday of lying to a federal grand jury to protect friends involved in a shootout outside a radio station.
Lil’ Kim and her assistant were both convicted of perjury and conspiracy but acquitted of obstruction of justice. They each face up to 20 years in prison; sentencing was set for June 24.
The 29-year-old former sidekick and mistress of the late Notorious B.I.G., known for her revealing outfits and raunchy raps, testified that she did not notice two close friends at the scene of the 2001 shootout — her manager, Damion Butler, and Suif “Gutta” Jackson. Both men have since pleaded guilty to gun charges.
The jury saw radio station security photos showing Butler opening a door for Lil’ Kim. And witnesses Antoine “Banger” Spain and James “Lil’ Cease” Lloyd, who once teamed with Lil’ Kim in the group Junior M.A.F.I.A, testified that Butler and Jackson were at the station with her.
Both defendants shook their heads as the verdicts were delivered. Lil’ Kim’s supporters broke out in sobs. After the verdict, when asked whether she had any comment, Lil’ Kim shook her head.
The shootout occurred outside WQHT, a.k.a. Hot 97, when Lil’ Kim’s entourage crossed paths with a rival rap group, Capone-N-Noreaga. One man was injured as more than two dozen rounds were fired on the sidewalk.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Cathy Seibel told jurors that the 4-foot-11 rapper, referred to throughout the trial by her real name, Kimberly Jones, had repeatedly lied to them, just as she did to the grand jury.
“The testimony was preposterous. It was insulting. It was insulting to your intelligence. It was insulting to the judicial process,” Seibel told jurors.
Seibel belittled the defense that the sunglasses-wearing Lil’ Kim didn’t notice two people she knew at the scene of the shootout.
“You would have to believe they were magic sunglasses that only block out your friends who were shooting people,” Seibel said.
Defense lawyer Mel Sachs argued that Lil’ Kim had no reason to protect Butler and Jackson because she had already eliminated them from her life.
Lil’ Kim testified that after the shooting she had a falling out with Butler, Banger and Cease because they were freeloading at her New Jersey town house. She said she decided to cut off Butler completely after he caused a ruckus outside a video shoot with Phil Collins (news).
“I was just fed up,” she said. “They were taking advantage of me.”
The rapper also testified at length about her modest background and mercurial career, which began with an impromptu audition for B.I.G. on the street in their Brooklyn neighborhood.
Lil’ Kim won a Grammy Award for her part in the hit remake of “Lady Marmalade” in 2001.
The shooting took place outside the same station where the posses of 50 Cent and The Game traded bullets last week. No arrests have been made in that shooting, which left one of Game’s henchmen wounded in the leg

~Q Got Jokes ~
50 Cent gives Snoop a handmade sweat suit. What does Snoop say to 50?
G-U Knit?
(I stole that joke from The Redneck Silent One in Ravena!)
Three men were sitting together bragging about how they had given their new wives duties.
The first man had married a woman from Tennessee and bragged that he had told his wife she was going to do all the dishesand house cleaning.
He said it took a couple days but on the third day he came home to a clean house and the dishes were done.
The second man had married a woman from Florida.
He bragged that he had given his wife orders that she was to doall the cleaning, dishes and the cooking. On that the firstday he didn’t see any results, but the next day it wasbetter. By the third day, his house was clean, the disheswere done and he had a huge dinner on the table.
The third man married a girl from New Jersey.
He told herthat her dutieswere to keep the house clean, dishes washed, lawn mowed, laundry washed and hot meals on the table for every meal.
He said the first day he didn’t see anything,
the second day he didn’t see anything
but by the third day most of theswelling had gone down
and he could see a little out of his left eye;
enough to fix himself a bite to eat, load the dishwasher and telephone a landscaper.
Gotta love those Jersey girls.
I’m out!

This is a late one, but still good news for The King OF The South. Taken from Atlantic press release:

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE ————————————MARCH 9, 2005
RIAA BRINGS OUT THE PLATINUM FOR T.I. “URBAN LEGEND” CERTIFIED AS
“BRING EM OUT” CROSSES OVER TO POP RADIO & “U DON’T KNOW ME” EXPLODES AT URBAN OUTLETS; NELLY TOUR KICKS OFF NEXT WEEK
“URBAN LEGEND,” the chart-topping album from Grand Hustle/Atlantic recording artist T.I., has been certified platinum by the RIAA for U.S. sales in excess of one million units. T.I.’s second label release, “URBAN LEGEND” made an explosive debut upon its release last November premiering in the #1 spot on Billboard’s “Top R&B/Hip-Hip Albums” chart and in the #7 spot on the Billboard 200. Now in its fourth month on the national charts, “URBAN LEGEND” remains in the top five this week on the R&B/Hip-Hop list.
“URBAN LEGEND” has thus far spawned a pair of smash singles. The first, “Bring Em Out,” hit the top five at Urban radio and the top ten at CHR/Rhythmic outlets. The single is now making major inroads at CHR/Pop radio, ranking as the #1 “New & Active” track on this week’s R&R chart.
Meanwhile, the album’s second single, “U Don’t Know Me,” has already bulleted into the top ten at Urban and into the top 15 at CHR/Rhythmic. The companion video is in Heavy rotation at BET, where it is the #1 most-played video of the week. T.I. is being featured in a string of BET programs, including “106 & Park” (where he performed live on March 2nd), “Access Granted,” “Rap City,” “BET Style,” and “Rip The Runway.” The “U Don’t Know Me” video is also in Big Ten rotation on MTV, and is enjoying major play on MTV2, MTV Jams - where it is in “Blazin’” rotation, and Fuse - where it is “Oven Fresh.”
Coinciding with the success of “URBAN LEGEND,” T.I. is getting ready to hit the road with Nelly. The two-month itinerary, which will play major venues from coast to coast, is set to get underway on March 18th and wrap up on May 21st. Also on the bill will be T.I.’s Atlantic labelmate Fat Joe.
In the online world, T.I. has performed for Sessions@AOL, the exclusive program of AOL-produced in-studio performances and interviews. His live performance has been among the Top 10 most played on AOL Music. T.I. has also performed for Rolling Stone Originals, where the audio is available for download and streaming via REAL and Rhapsody. On the wireless front, T.I. continues to have top-selling ringtones across a number of Atlantic’s wireless partners.
“URBAN LEGEND” has been winning press raves and major media coverage since its release. Most recently, T.I. garnered the spring cover of Trace magazine and will be featured on the May cover of XXL.
“URBAN LEGEND” finds the Atlanta-based rap sensation joined by a crew of special guests, including Pharrell, Nelly, Lil’ Kim, Trick Daddy,Lil Jon, Lil Wayne, Jazze Pha, and others. The album is the follow-up to T.I.’s breakthrough 2003 Grand Hustle/Atlantic premiere, “TRAP MUZIK,” which included the hits “24’s,” “Rubber Band Man,” and “Let’s Get Away.” In addition to the original “URBAN LEGEND,” an entirely remixed version of the album - “URBAN LEGEND: CHOPPED AND SCREWED BY PAUL WALL” -was released last month. For this special release, the set was completely retooled by acclaimed underground mixmaster Paul Wall, incorporating the psychedelic sound of “screw” to create an all-new musical experience.
———————————————————————————————————————–
Also, according to Billboard, 2Pac, Loyal to the Game is in the platinum selling club as of Feb 15th.

Pac and Heather Hunter(?) during happier times.

According to Jada, 50 Cent did 1.1 million in a short week with The Massacre . I don’t have any info to back that up, but I’ll take homies word.

You gonna back that thing up or should I push up on it?
John Legend and X to the the Zibit are both at gold as of Feb. 15th for Get Lifted and Weapons of Mass Destruction(I need to get new numbers without paying Billboard a grip..any suggestions?)

Wait..theres a recoup clause for the “Ordinary” video?
Somebody call my manager!
Oh yeah, my girlfriend just cleared 10 Million with Feels Like Home . Love you baby!

UGHH! This mic stinks..was Biz Markie doing the beatbox with my mic again!
