Katt Williams continues to take the world on by storm with his hilarious acts and hard hitting comedy. The hard working comedian has become of America’s favorite new jokesters, and has been compared to some of the greats. His style might remind you of Richard Pryor, but Katt Williams is truly his own man on stage!
Katt is one hell of a funny guy, all you have to do is catch some of his movie appearances and you’ll be laughing so hard that your start crying in no time. The side splitting Pimp Chronicles Pt. 1 had people everywhere saying “This shit right here!!” His character Money Mike stole the show in Friday After Next and gave the movie the few real laughs that it had. (Pimp Down!) Add his appearances in Nick Cannon’s Wildin’ Out and his album deal with Dip Set Records, and Katt’s stats start to add up. His star is on the rise.
His new DVD is another step for Williams as he continues his reign as the king of underground comedy. The DVD is a mash-up of sorts, as he mixes scripted storyline and stand up routines with hilarious results. The movie starts with Katt as he weaves through Hollywood in an attempt to make his own movie. As he rejects offers to make a March Of The Penguins meets Brokeback Mountain, and copy of Eddie Murphy and his rubber suit filled flicks, he realizes that the only way to make a movie the way he wants is to hit the road and take the show to the people.
Together with his crew from back in the day, Williams travels America, hustling his jokes along the way! Luenell, Red Grant and Melanie Comarcho all add their over the top comedy to the show, making it a laugh fest from start to end. Luenell’s scene in the retirement home is priceless, as is Red’s crazy antics and sex stories. Melanie had me rolling on the floor too, and Jermey Piven has the line of the year as he tells Katt that he is the love child of Jimmy Hendrix, and Allen Iverson’s imaginary romp in Richard Pryor recreation room. The whole DVD is funny like that and then some. Snoop Doog, Da Brat, Tamala Jones and Ludacris also appear in the movie. Check it out and laugh out loud!

That’s right kiddies, your favorite B-Boy blogger is moving on up in the world, as I take my patented style of crazy talk to the internet radio waves. OK, maybe theres no such thing as internet radio waves, but you get what I’m trying to say. It’s on and poppin’ as I continue in my personal quest to take over the internet, one site at a time!
I already have my own talk show, hosted at BlogTalk Radio called The Cyber Mix Tape Show. I never gave it much thought or time, as my blogging life is constantly threating to take over my real life. Now it looks like 2008 will be the year that sends my Google search results string through the roof. (Try typing my name in Google and see how many fun links you find..I do it once a week just for shits and giggles) After meeting up with everyone from Blogcritics.org over at BlogWorld Expo, I was informed of our new channel at BlogTalk. One thing lead to another and somehow I found myself with a nice little show.
I have already given the CMTS a test run, but my official first show kicks off on Friday, November 23rd at 9pm PST. I plan on having a few callers, and talk about everything good in the world of urban entertainment and news. You can check my first test show now at BlogTalkRadio. I had a chance to talk to JhaVoice and underground rapper Armel The Great, who has history with GZA, Sonz Of Man & The Wu Tang Clan. It was a nice little piece, only spoiled by the shortness of the broadcast. Trust me, our future shows will be off the hook! The main subject of the this week’s show will be “If Hip-Hop Is Dead, Who Killed Her?” Give me a call on Friday and let me know what you think about that!

Live from BlogWorld Expo! Where is my camera????? November 9, 2007
Posted by Canhead in Webslingin'.add a comment
Peace party people, it’s your boy Q checking in real quick from the BlogWorld Expo! The last two days have been hectic as ever, but we are having a good time and meeting tons of people. The only major bummer of the whole event (Sound problems and engineer spazzing at the JhaVoice show aside) was the fact that I LOST MY CAMERA!!!!
That’s right, I lost my cheap litte Nikon. Words cannot describe how hurt I am right now. I only had a chance to take a few shots before I misplaced it somewhere at the convention, so not much was lost. There were so many photos and videos being shot that I’m sure I will find a few of them floating around in the next few days. Shouts to the lovely Carmen at SiTV for the interview that was getting a little to hot for words!
Make sure you listen to Blog Talk Radio, as JhaVoice will be interviewed live today! I will repost the interview asap but go to their site now to hear us both live!
Gotta go, stay tuned for a full rundown of the BlogWorld Expo!
WIN A FREE COPY OF KAT DE LUNA 9 LIVES CD! November 3, 2007
Posted by Canhead in Operation Swag Bag.add a comment
Kat De Luna is the new teen sensation hailing from the Bronx, bringing her upbeat dance songs to the world. This Bronx born, New Jersey raised Dominican songstress is enjoying a successful rise as her new album 9 Lives continues to gain fans.
Her single “Whine Up” featuring Elephant Man, is still enjoying healthy spins on radio and video channels, was added as the theme song to WWE’s “Saturday Night Main Event.” She is gaining fans online as well, as she recently won AOL Breakers contest and is currently up for AOL Breaker for Pop Song the Year, competing with Colby Caillat and Young Love from J. Lo’s “Dance Life.”
Many of the songs on 9 Lives have a Caribbean feel, bringing elements similar to reggae, calypso and salsa. Truth be told, as soon as I heard the opening synth lines to “Whine Up,” I figured the producer Red One was from New York. The songs have that East Coast club sound, sort of like Reel 2 Real’s “I Like To Move It” or something Fulanito would do. In fact the whole album has that feel to it, sometimes giving the CD a monotonous tone. Thank God Kat has some serious vocal chops to save the day.
Kat De Luna has perfect material for pop music, she is more than just another cute singer, as her voice reaches super soprano heights that are more suited for grand opera houses than Summerfest stages. Still Kat delivers with ease and gives us a nice introduction to her international mix of styles. America seems to be ready and loving her. You know you’ve made it when you’re on “Regis & Kelly,” trying to teach Kelly how to do your dance steps!
While this is her first solo CD, Kat was primed for the stage while singing with the girl group Coquette. Fast forward to today, Kat is tearing up the stages with her own sounds! Her album has already generated a good deal of attention for De Luna, and she still has one or two single ready songs on the album, most notably “Am I Dreaming,” “Run The Show” and “Animal.” Kat is going to be here for a while, judging from the way the fans are flocking to her and her spicy mix of music.
WIN A FREE COPY OF 9 LIVES CD!
To celebrate Kat De Luna 9 Lives CD, Canhead is teaming with GMB / Epic Records to give one lucky readers a free copy of 9 Lives! For your chance to win, send an email to Q.Rock639 at gmail.com, with the words “Kat De Luna 9 Lives Contest” in the subject. We will email and announce the winners after November 16th!
Check the comments section for winner’s names and prizes! Give away is for US residents only; entries must be received by November 15th.
Operation Swag Bags November 3, 2007

This morning as I sit at the desk, tiredly fumbling over computer keys and deleting more junk mail, I have to smile at life. Sure it’s hectic as ever over here at the Canhead compound, but it’s a good type of hectic. The kind of hectic-ness that you want to be around your work. As you all know, BlogWorld starts this Wednesday in Las Vegas. I spent last night listening to JhaVoice as she rehearsed with her singers, while I worked on getting our new cards and promo stuff ready for the expo. If that wasn’t enough, I am fully engrossed with my new side project, Operation Swag Bags!
What is Operation Swag Bag you say? Well, it’s just your soon to be favorite feature, here at your favorite blog site! OSB is my new hair brained schemed to deliver nothing but quality news and entertainment to the world! Basically, I want to give back to my readers, and will host contest and giveaways weekly! I’m talking DVDs, CDs, concert tickets, books, and whatever cool little swag that I get. Since I get so much of this stuff sent to me, I figured I’d share the wealth. I have the next three contest lined up and will start posting them immediately!
Stay tuned for more great give aways like the American Gangster CD below.
