Really Really Good-The Undefeated Champion

Let’s get ready to rumble! Here’s a rundown of some of the latest news, music, and events that I have stumbled across this week. Enjoy!

Word On The Street

One of the more lively Democratic candidates, Mike Gravel is a very interesting man to listen to and watch. He has a long way to go to catch up with Dem favs Obama and Clinton, but he has come out with some incredible sound bites(“And I gotta tell ya, after standing up with them, some of these people frighten me!”) and is getting a lot of attention. We’ll see if it all helps him in the race. Check out the videos below for more on the outspoken Former Senator from Alaska.

J Records new artist Emily King is gearing up for her debut album East Side Stories, set to drop on June 12th. Her lead single “Walk In My Shoes” (WMP, Real and QT) is a nice introduction to the Lower East Side songstress. Stay tuned for a full review of the Chucky Thompson produced, R&B/Soul artist here at RRG, but until then have a listen to “Walk IN My Shoes”, “U and I” (WMP, Real and QT) and visit her MySpace page and say hello. Oh yeah, make sure you check her YouTube video in response to the whole Imus incident as well.

KRS One On Hannity Show
The teacher goes a few rounds on the Hannity Show, defending some of his statements regarding 9/11 and police shootings. A classic example of why KRS-One is one of the more outspoken voices of Hip-Hop.

Diamonds In The Rough
Produced by Subterranean & Moving Talking Pictures
Diamonds in the Rough offers a raw glimpse of urban Africa through the eyes of five emerging Hip Hop artists Saba Saba, Silas, Rah-P, Abramz and Slyvester in the Ugandan capitol of Kampala. They teach us
how to struggle with a smile, how to make the best of life against insufferable odds,
how to create our own opportunities and flourish through positivity, presenting a
refreshing contrast to the commercialized ‘bling bling’ gangster rap here in America.

Etc. Etc.,

Why Do We Kill-JhaVoice is one of the new artist to watch, as she re-introduces herself with her first single, “Why Do We Kill”. The conscious lyrics combined with the upbeat hip-hop vibes of the track helps JhaVoice deliver a beautiful song.

Voice 2 Sing
The title track of JhaVoice’s first CD, “Voice 2 Sing” is a excellent example of this singer’s style, range and message.

Woobly Weeble-A nice hip-hop party vibe track with Q.Rock639 sitting lyrics of fire as the soulful JhaVoice joins in to hype the party even more! Just rock to the rhythm of Q.Rock639 with this hip-hop burner!

“Penmanship In War”
One of the new tracks by Kayaro Inc. artist Q.Rock639, this one is packed to the gills with rhymes, as Q spits some serious heat, rapping through the very last drum beat of the track. With a bare bones, deep toned track, Q shows his skills off on this one.

The Champion!
Round 12
Floyd Mayweather got the decision and the WBC Light Middleweight Title Belt, in this highly anticipated bout. While De La Hoya looked to be the aggressor in many rounds, the points were never in his favor, as Floyd seemed to bait Oscar and bait him the entire time, controlling the pace of the fight. Looks like the re-match is already in the works.

At least things stayed nice and clean in the ring, unlike Mayweather’s run in with Zab Judah.
